Botanical name (authority): Austroderia richardii (Raoul) S.Dransf.
South Island Toetoe (Austroderia richardii) is a tall, perennial grass with long, arching leaves and large, feathery flower plumes that rise above the foliage.
This plant grows well in full sun to light shade and prefers moist, fertile, well-drained soils.
