Botanical name (authority): Phormium tenax J.R.Forst. & G.Forst.


Harakeke (Phormium tenax) is a robust, clump-forming perennial with long, sword-shaped leaves and tall flower stalks with nectar-rich flowers.


It prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soils; tolerates wet conditions.
