Who is HSC?

Welcome to our new HSC blog, thank you for taking the time to visit!

The blog is going to add to the many avenues HSC use to keep you up-to-date with the projects we have going on, and events coming up, and to share resources and information with our catchment community and followers.

To kick off, we wanted to introduce the Hakataramea Sustainability Collective (HSC) for those that are new here and to share with you what we are about.

HSC’s aim is to assist with and encourage the protection and enhancement of the Hakataramea Valley environment, and promote profitable and sustainable farming practices for future generations. We are proud to be community-led catchment group and welcome involvement from everyone who lives in the Hakataramea Valley or has a connection to it.

We have instigated a range of activities since forming in 2017, including re-establishing a recreation area, developing a welcome pack for new residents, running a number of workshops and field days, implementing the recycling depot and establishing the Community Native Nursery in collaboration with the Waitaki Valley School.

We have a number of options to keep informed including our website, Facebook, an e-newsletter and regular updates through the Bugle. For more information please do not hesitate to get in touch, email Leigh Fodie at info@hakatarameasc.co.nz.
